Research
HeartMath is an internationally recognized, nonprofit research & education organization dedicated to teaching people to rely on the intelligence of their hearts in concert with their minds at home, school, work and play.
HeartMath provides research that explains the bidirectional “healing” that happens when we are near horses.
According to researchers, the heart has a larger electromagnetic field and higher level of intelligence than the brain. The horse’s electromagnetic field is also stronger than ours, and can directly influence our own heart rhythm!
Often times, a horse’s presence is all we need to feel a sense of wellness and peace. In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits while interacting with horses, including lowered blood pressure and heart rate, increased levels of beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters that serve as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, reduced feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, improved social functioning; and increased feelings of empowerment, trust, patience and self-efficacy.

Harnessing the healing power of nature is within your reach: simply step outside and reap its benefits."

Research shows the importance of being in nature is imperative to our health. Immersing yourself in unstructured nature that hasn’t been rearranged by humans is even more powerful and what we are able to offer at 16 Hands of Love.
